What is Radon gas?
Radon gas has a nickname of the “silent killer” as it is not only completely colourless but it is also odourless and worst of all it is a radioactive gas. This gas is created by small particles of a substance called Uranium going through a process called radioactive decay and creates Radon Gas which is known to naturally occur inside all soils and rocks.
Radon Gas could be absolutely anywhere in the UK and can be present both inside homes and outside and the levels of Radon gas all depend on the readings for a particular area or property. Radon Gas and can be inhaled by the human body and this radioactive gas can eventually travel into the lungs where the elements of the gas begin to deteriorate and persist to emit radiation including forgetting alpha particles. Alpha particles are captivated by adjacent lung tissues resulting in localised damage.
