Pali Teesside win charity Golf Tournament!
Congratulations to Pali Teesside for winning the Charity Golf Tournament at Rockcliffe Hall Golf Course in aid of The Butterwick Hospice! There was a lot of drama and excitement mixed with tension and nervousness on the Rockcliffee Hall Golf Course.
The day way organised by Alasdair and Julie Ross of We Do HR on their Inaugural Golf Day to help raise money for the charity Butterwick Hospice with many local businesses playing against the course in a Stapleford Competition.
Pali Teesside’s Jon Coupland entered his team which consisted of Paul Wheeler, Doug McMann and Keith Stephenson of Marton Electrical. Pali Teesside sponsored a hole and Mint Design & Print kindly donated the sign. We’d also like to give a big thank you to Michael Cartwright Photography for capturing Pali Teesside’s best moments on this memorable occasion.
We spoke to Jon Coupland as he enthusiastically recalled the day’s events.
‘The Pali team ‘the best of Pali’, met in the morning for a bacon butty and coffee and teed off at 12:20pm in brilliant sun shine. The golf course is set in the simply stunning surroundings of a 5 star hotel on the banks of the Tees. I couldn’t believe I was playing my first proper competition and I found the run up to the occasion quite daunting to say the least.
I almost gained glory on the 2nd, where teams were able to pitch against the club pro. I almost beat him when he took his stroke short, I out drove him in the fluke of the moment with my ball landing on the apron of the green. It was close but not close enough, it had to be on the green to take the prize but it made me smile.
The team was playing well and when we totted up the score card in the 19th hole. We knew we were in with a chance but I was genuinely gob smacked when Ali Ross announced we had beaten the team in second place by just one point!
We collected our trophies and vowed we will return next year to defend our title.
Thanks to We Do HR and the staff at Rockcliffe who together looked after our every need. Also thank you to all the teams that made the day possible but most of all to my wife Kerry for letting me have the day off work when she was holding the fort back at the office and keeping our Pali customers happy.’
Congratulations Pali Teesside for winning the golf tournament. It sounds like you had a great day whilst raising money for The Butterwick Hospice.
