Jaguar Land Rover factory to create 1,000 new jobs in Merseyside!
Jaguar Land Rover have announced they are in the process of creating 1,000 new jobs at their Merseyside factory to support ‘sufficient demand’ for the models currently on the market.
The extra 1,000 employees being added to the manufacturing works based in Halewood will take the total work force to 4,500 which is treble the number employed at the plant three years ago!
This is great news for the local area and for Jaguar Land Rover who need the extra 1,000 staff to support the demand for the Range Rover Freelander 2 and Range Rover Evoque which have been very popular since released last year.
The adjustments to the Halewood factory were outlined by Des Thurlby, Jaguar Land Rover’s human resources director who spoke to the Wirral Globe, ‘We are moving Halewood to three shifts, and 24 hour operation to meet the increased demand for our products.’ He added ‘Our commitment to expand the Halewood workforce and increase production is great news for Jaguar Land Rover, Merseyside and for the wider UK economy’.
The announcement made this afternoon shows the expansion of the UK automotive sector and this will have a encouraging impact on growth in local supply chains such as the United States, Russia, and China where thousands more jobs are forecast to be created.
